Description
The hotel is situated a short drive from Freiburg in the heart of the black forest directly at the mouth of the wild Ravenna Glen. The main road up to Titisee runs past the hotel and motorways are within easy reach. The medium sized rooms are decorated with pine panelling, pine beds and furniture and have pretty picture windows. Those in the main building are in very good condition, whilst some of the rooms in the annexe are in fair condition. The same goes for the bathrooms. The restaurant which is located in the main building has a tiled floor. The walls, ceiling, and furniture are all of pine. The hotel consists of two buildings of traditional black forest style with wooden balconies overflowing with flowers. Many famous people have stayed here including Marie Antoinette, Goethe and Trollop. A third traditionally styled building houses a cuckoo clock \factory\ and a restaurant often used for lunch stops. The lobby is in the main building and is very traditional with exposed timber beams and a tiled floor. The hotel is an excellent base from which to explore the black forest in traditional style.
